This is your opportunity to reserve a seat in the 2022 NARUC Fall Rate School.

The in-person school will be held at the Marriott Clearwater Beach on Sunday, October 16 – Friday, October 21. (Eastern Time Zone)

Orientation, special sessions and team meetings will be held virtually online on:
September 22: Rate School Orientation (3:00 -4:00 pm Eastern Time)
September 29: Rate School Accounting Basics (3:00 -4:15 pm Eastern Time)
October 6: Why We are Here and Why it Matters (3:00 - 4:00pm Eastern Time)
October 11: Team Meetings (3:00 – 4:00 pm Eastern Time)

Why attend:
At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Understand the basics of utility rate setting.
2. Understand of Financial Statements for regulated utility companies.
3. Have the knowledge, skills, and tools that guide regulated utility rate making including choosing test year for revenue requirement.
4. Gain understanding of how rate base is developed.
5. Understand how a mock rate case is developed and the use of sample adjustments.
6. Demonstrate how to calculate rate base, revenue requirement, and rate design for regulated utility.

(Students are on own for Lunch on Wednesday & Thursday)

Meeting Attire:

Be comfortable and check the weather!
What TO wear: Khakis, capris, slacks, skirt, dress, skorts, nice jeans, collared shirts, comfortable shoes, a sweater, jacket or shawl to ensure comfort while indoors.

What NOT to wear in the meetings: suits, ties, shorts, t-shirts or flip-flops

Cancellation and Other Policies:

Cancellations:
Written requests received by 5:00 pm on September 30, 2022 will be honored less 50% processing fee. No refunds after September 30 without documentation of a medical emergency. Cancellations by telephone are not accepted. If you register in advance and do not attend or cancel prior to the deadline, you are still responsible for the full registration fee. To cancel a registration contact Bunnary Tan (btan@naruc.org).

Substitutions:
Substitutions must be received in writing via email by September 30. A ‘NEW’ person must have a profile in the system, click this link to create a profile https://www.naruc.org/mynaruc/. Once a profile has been created, please contact wharris@naruc.org with the substitution request. After September 30 substitutions may be processed with an additional $125 processing fee. Continuing Education Information:

The 2022 Fall Rate School will seek approval for up to 30 CPE credit hours. This course is not approved for CLE. Participants may apply on their own to the qualifying CLE board.
