The 2023 NARUC Staff Subcommittee on Accounting and Finance Spring Conference is in-person.
In-Person Conference. Open Session for all conferences will begin at 8 AM Monday, April 3, 2023, and continue through approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. The Closed Session (for subcommittee members and regulatory conferees) will begin on Sunday night (4/2/23) at 7pm and Thursday beginning at 8 AM and continue to noon.
Learning Objectives
After completion of this conference, you will be able to:
• Identify the current accounting initiatives, standards, and projects at FASB relevant to utilities.
• Identify the characteristics of programs funded by the Rural Utilities Service.
• Identify the emerging issues at the FERC, State Commissions, and legislative actions.
• Identify challenges from a changing environment in which utilities operate.
• List current regulatory issues of electric, natural gas, and water utilities.
• Identify emerging issues on renewable electric generation
• Identify ever changing requirements related to ESG
• Identify applicable tax issues for the utility industries

Cancellations:If you are unable to attend or secure a substitute from the same organization, cancellation must be submitted via email to btan@naruc.org. A refund less a 20% processing fee will apply prior to March 24, 2023. After March 24, 2023, no refund will be issued unless documentation of an emergency is submitted. Individuals who fail to attend the meeting (no-shows) will not be entitled to any refund. Substitutions may be made onsite.

Room Reservations:Individuals attending the NARUC Staff Subcommittee on Accounting and Finance 2023 Spring Conference must register to receive the link to reserve a room at NARUC Group Rate. Reservations are not allowed by calling the hotel(s). Rooms in the NARUC hotel block are for NARUC registrants only. One reservation per registrant is allowed. Reservations by non-registrants or multiple hotel reservations are subject to immediate cancellation or rate change.
Room Reservations must be made through the NARUC housing link noted in the registration confirmation email. Rooms booked through methods other than the NARUC housing link or with the hotel directly are subject to different rates and will not be adjusted by NARUC staff. If you receive a phone call or email from any company claiming they are responsible for NARUC housing, do not work with them as it is a scam.
